Bio Source Health – Iontophoresis Patch System
Last Updated: January 2026
Overview
Iontophoresis transdermal patch systems, including IntroPhoresis® patches, are designed to deliver water-soluble compounds such as NAD+, B vitamins, peptides, or other prescribed formulations through intact skin without needles. These systems are single-use devices that require a valid prescription and should be used only as directed by a licensed healthcare provider.
How IntroPhoresis® Patches Work
IntroPhoresis® patches use low levels of direct current to help drive charged molecules across the skin and into underlying tissue. When applied correctly, a gentle current is generated between the electrodes in the patch, facilitating controlled delivery of active ingredients. This method allows extended therapeutic exposure over time as an alternative to injections.
Normal Skin Reactions
Some redness, soreness, or itching at the patch application site is common and usually resolves shortly after removal. These reactions are similar to mild adhesive irritation.
Possible Adverse Reactions
Uncommon reactions may include localized skin irritation, mild burning sensation, temporary changes in skin color, or discomfort at the application site. If severe pain, blistering, or swelling occurs, remove the patch immediately and contact your healthcare provider.
Patch Removal Instructions
To reduce skin irritation, wet the area with warm, soapy water before gently peeling off the patch. Cleanse the area thoroughly after removal. Avoid removing the patch dry.
Contraindications & Special Warnings
Do not wear IntroPhoresis® patches during MRI scans, CT scans, or high-frequency electrical therapies such as diathermy. These procedures may interfere with patch function or imaging equipment.
When to Contact Your Provider
Discontinue use and consult your licensed healthcare provider if you experience severe discomfort, signs of significant skin damage, allergic reactions, or concerns regarding patch placement or function.
General Safety Notes
IntroPhoresis® patches are intended for single use only. Do not reuse, alter, or attempt to recharge the patch. Keep out of reach of children and store in a cool, dry place away from extreme temperatures.
